1. General information

1.1 General
Europa Haxball League is the second most prestigious tournament in Haxball. The competition is created in order to gather not the best teams from different haxball communities and split them from top teams.

1.2 History
Europa Haxball League played #5 Editions so far. A lot of different teams won it but current winners are Marginesy Spoleczne from Poland.

1.3 Administration
Head Admins of Haxball.EU are keggj and Ron. List of EHL admins will be given HERE. Admin are available at any time to help any EHL member in order to make his participation on EHL Forum easier.

1.4 Members
Everyone who wants to be part of EHL tournament has to create unique forum account in order to show others his own haxball identity. All multi-accounts will be restricted with ban, same as spam bots, restricted names etc. Everyone is able to register on EHL forum until he violate some of forum / league rules and get banned. Member accounts should be also used to confirm player participation in specific team he was added in where name must be same (or very similar) to ingame nickname of a player.



2. Registration process

2.1 Team registration
Before every season, EHL admin team will create forum thread in order to give all communities chance to sign up their teams and therefore register into EHL tournament. Start and expiration date and time will be stated clear in registration thread in the first post.

2.2 Registration code

2.3 Registration rules
  1. Every haxball community* can apply for the EHL tournament, but the EHL-Admin-Team decides on its own, which communities will be invited to the EHL tournament and reserves the right to reject any community without further explanation.
  * only european and serious communities will be considered. A community should provide at least -1- accomplished season yet. It is possible that applying communities originate from the same country.
  2. In order to successfully pass the registration process, it is required that the responsible listed admin of an haxball community first contact HCL Admin in and then gets approval to register his/her community plus the participating teams on the EHL website.
  3. Every listed haxball community can send number of teams dealed with admin. In some cases admins can reject some teams.
  4. All listed team names and captains must be same as is league line-up thread (team must be active in community!).

2.4 List of accepted communities
From Edition #5, EHL is using EHL Ranking in order to full-fill the new system. List of accepted communities will be given in header page #Edition Ranking and in relevant forum post. Due to rule 3. in Registration rules, we will probably accept all communities listed.

2.5 Additional information
We kindly ask you to respect and understand the decision of Admin team and do not create useless flame after the registration results in case you dislike with our choice. In case we didn't accept you community in EHL, we will probably add you to EHL tournament which is also competitive, specially since it is connected to EHL tournament and its teams.



3. EHL System



4. Tournament procedure

4.1 Game settings
Mode: 4on4
Duration: 2 x 10 minutes (halftime: change sides)

4.2 Matchdays
EHL Matchdays will be played on one default day: Thursday at 20 CEST except of possible stream times.

4.3 Stream
EHL Stream will be connected with HEU TV and HCB Network by MJF. All stream events together with date and time will be announced in stream section. Official stream matches default time will be moved to 20:30 CEST and teams will be forced, in case they want to, must use wildcard at least 1 day ahead so we can find another stream match.

4.4 Kick limiter
EHL Matches are played with use of the kick limiter (/kick_ratelimit 6 0 0). Please make sure the limit is set and the chat message "Kick Rate Limit set to (min: 6, rate: 0, burst: 0)" is visible on start of the recording of the match.

4.5 3-def rule
The EHL is using the so called 3-def rule. In case of a violation of the 3-def rule, the EHL admin team will decide whether to judge the match as a 0-3 defloss against the violating team. Full explanation of 3-def rule can be read HERE.

4.6 Group stage positioning
The place of teams in the group stage tables is decided by the following factors:

Win: 3 points
Draw: 1 point
Loss: 0 points

- In case of the same amount of points, the direct comparison is decisive.
- Only the results between the tied teams are considered.
- If the goal difference is tied, the amount of scored goals is decisive.
- In case two or more teams have same points, only comparison between them 3 is decisive.
- In case of defwin in H2H comparison, winning side is the one who didn't receive def-lose (regardless on total result).

4.7 Overtime (qualification / final stage)
In case of a draw after the regular playing time, the "extra time" rule applies. The teams change sides again, the score limit is set to -0- and the time limit to -5-. The teams change sides again and -5- more minutes will be played. If after 10 minutes of "extra time" no goals were scored or the result is again a draw, the "golden goal" rule applies. The teams change sides again, the score limit is set to -1- and the time limit to -None-. The team which scores first will win and the match is immediately over. All goals that are scored without a following kick-off do not count.

4.8 Host
Every EHL match must be played completely on European VPS host. In case teams can't find host on their own they can ask admin to help them.



5. Matchday procedure

5.1 Captain communication
Main resource of EHL Communication still remains Forum as main and Haxball Community teamspeak as reserve option to easy contact your opponent. There is an option to contact your opponent from private message on forum and share link there which is recommended, but we still allow to contact trough Haxball Community teamspeak or possible discord messaging.

5.2 EHL Authenticity Proof
In case some players are suspected as fake and asked by opponent captain or admin to prove their identity, they have to login to forum in order to prove they aren't impersonating.

5.3 Results and replays
Both teams are obliged to support the transmission of the result by recording every official match. Only a complete replay ensures the proper transmission of the final result. If the entire replay or important parts of the required match media is missing, the match is being judged as a 0-3 defloss for both teams. If a match was streamed, the saved video on the stream page can be used as evidence for the final result.
The entire match media has to be reported within -24- hours after the default match time. Wildcarded matches must be reported until latest match time deadline.

5.4 Player appearance
All players have to use the same (at least recognisable) name ingame, which is listed in the line-up thread.
If a team is making use of players who are not allowed to play, the match is being judged as a 0-3 defloss.

5.5 Substitutions
Both teams are only allowed to substitute players at half time or after a goal. There is no limit for substitutions. If a player is forced to stop playing, the team is allowed to pause the match. However his team needs the approval of the opponent team for a substitution, otherwise the affected team has to continue in 3vs4 mode.

5.6 Match delay
A match can only be cancelled, if the majority of all players in the room has performance problems. In such a case, the teams are allowed to stop the match and move to another host or even reschedule the match, if no replacement host is available. If both teams agree, the match can be fully restarted, otherwise only the remaining time will be played on the new host.

5.7 Post match obligations
Both teams are obligated to save the Replay after the game. Team who won the game is obligated to sign-up the Replay with requested information on the forum. In case of a draw, home team must sign up Replay and statistics on forum (it is possible if captains mutually agree other decision).

5.8 Protests
In case of rule violations it is possible to open an official protest. Leave a post in the result reporting thread of the relevant match, clarify why you want to protest against the final result and add the required evidence A protest has to be posted within -24- hours after the default match time (or agreed new match time, in case of a postponed match), else it will be rejected



6. Wildcards

6.1 In order to postpone a match (change the default match date or/and time), a so called wildcard is necessary. Wildcarding a match practically means that a listed player of a team creates a thread in the relevant forum section, where the opposing team is informed about the postponement.

6.2 Amount of wildcards for each team in EHL tournament: -3-. It is regardless which stage team is starting at.

6.3 A wildcard is only valid, if it's posted until 19:00 CEST on the matchday for each match playing at default time (20:00 CEST). Stream matches must be wildcarded at least 1 day before (23:59 CET 1 day before match should be played).

6.4 If a wildcard is posted after 19:00 CET, the postponing team will be forced to play at the default match time. If the postponing team shows up with less than 4 players, the opposing team is allowed to take the defwin 3-0 or accept late wildcard. In case of accepting late wildcard, opposing team has to write it in wildcard thread.

6.5 All wildcarded matches must be played in reported in time of 5 days after game is postponed.

6.6 In case admins see both teams tried to arrange a new date but didn't find a time to do it, they will schedule match on 6th day in deal with both captains.

6.7 A new date and time is only valid, if it has been suggested in the forum and is confirmed by both teams. This confirmation has to be done not later than -1- hours before the new date and time, else this arrangement is not valid. However it is of course possible to play a game spontaneously and agree to a date in less than -1- hours before the new arrangement, if both teams confirm but it still has to be written on forum!

6.8 If match is played without forum confirmation it won't be count as valid. In special cases admins can allow it but its not recommended.

6.9 Once a new date and time is arranged properly, no team is allowed to cancel it without the opponents agreement. If team is trying to cancel the arranged time, opposing team should seek admin help.

6.10 All wildcards played on the same day of postponement will not be counted.

6.11 Any Official Match can't be played before scheduled time.



7. Teams

7.1 Only the Captain or Co-Captain is allowed to manage the line-up of specific team.

7.2 Line-up has to be consisted during the whole tournament and be valid for full running EHL edition. Team must be an active part of his community league in full EHL campaign he is running.

7.3 All line-up topics will consist of full team name, team logo, captain, co-captain(s) and players in the First topic. Another topics will be consisted of captain adding team, player additions, confirmations and player removals.

7.4 Captain team addition has to consist of full team name, logo (150x150, transparent), captain name and flag, co-captains names and flags, players names and flags and team lineup link from respective community team is joining from.

7.5 Line-up from each team (group / qualification) must be added latest 2 hours before officially scheduled first match of each team. In case match is wildcarded or defwin, same rule still apply.

7.6 Player additions are valid for 2 weeks what means every player who was added in line-up and didn't confirm in 2 week period will be deleted from line-up. Players can confirm at any time before match start.

7.7 Each team must have at least 6 added players (5 confirmed) and maximum 10 confirmed players in line-up.

7.8 All players in EHL line-up have to be listed in the line-up of the same team in the national community, where the participating team has been qualified/sent from. This rule applies throughout the entire running tournament and players, who leave their national community team, will be removed from the HCL line-up as well.

7.9 Team name and logo change are not possible in runing EHL tournament after team reach first scheduled match.

7.10 Every possible captain change has to be approved by admins and written in respective line-up thread of specific team. All other changes also must be stated in line-up thread, but do not have to be approved by admins, only in special cases.

7.11 In case team is disbanded from EHL, all their results will be validated as 3-0 Defwin for opponent, regardless of time team is disbanded from the competition. If team archive 2 def-loss games in group-stage or 1 def-loss in knock-out stage of EHL tournament, it will be disbanded from the competition. If team is disbanded from EHL, all players who confirmed before the time of disband are blocked for running tournament.

7.12 In case team reject demoting from HCL to EHL tournament it will be restricted. Then admins should find a replacement team, preferably from the same community or in different case best ranked team who didn't qualify for the next stage. In special cases admins can reject searching new team and just qualify that team as defwin for opponent.

7.13 No active HCL player can play in any EHL team. Any possible transfers has to request admin approval.



8. Transfers

8.1 Player transfers have to be announced in the relevant line-up-thread by creating a new post.

Please make use of the following pattern:

Addition: + player name (nationality)
Removal: - player name

8.2 All signed players have to confirm their participation by creating a new post in the relevant line-up thread, before they are allowed to play official matches. This applies for players of the initial line-up (same goes for captains) as well as for additionally signed players. A new player needs to confirm to the line-up before official match start, if a team wants to make use of him in that match. If that does not happen, the player is not allowed to play the relevant match.

8.3 All line-ups will be locked for additions 1 hour before first group-stage match in EHL tournament (for group and qual stage teams both).

8.4 After the competition officially start and lineups lock down players can only be signed 2 days before Play-Off stage starts (day of play-off and one day before).

8.5 All confirmed players, who leave (leave is supposed to be the collective term for both removal processes cut by captain/co-captain and player's self-removal) their teams line-up after 19 CET on the officially scheduled (if match is wildcarded or counted as defwin, time doesnt change) 1st matchday of the season, are blocked for running EHL tournament.

8.6 In case player didn't play any match in old team and leave (or get cut) his team after 1st matchday need to search special admin approval to join another team in EHL or HCL. Transfers will only be considered before group-stage start but still Admin team will decide individually if they accept it or no.

8.6 A player who has never been listed in any teams line-up in the running season, is a so called free agent and can be signed at any time, if the line-up rule and other transfer restrictions allow the transfer.

8.7 For adding a player in EHL it must previously be visible that player is signed to community line-up thread. In case admins cant see it, they won't approve the transfer. If they manage to get proof that player was added in league line-up before EHL, admins approve him with immediate affects.



9. Restrictions

9.1 If a team is having less than -6- players added (at least 5 confirmed!) in line-up at the time of official match time, match will not be played and result will be added as 0-3 defloss for their opponents.

9.2 If a team is trying to use player who is not added to their line-up (on time), opponent captain and / or admins should warn them to remove player from the game. If it still doesn't help, miss-behaved team and player will be restricted with 1 match suspension or possible ban.

9.3 If player isn't able to confirm his identity via forum, he will be restricted with 1 match suspension or possible ban, depends if admin team consider player is impersonated.

9.4 If a team doesn't respect competition, admin team and opponents, they will be disbanded from the competition.

9.5 If a team doesn't show up on match at all, they will get an official warning. After they do it again and receive 2nd def-loss, they will be disbanded from the competition.

9.6 If both teams can not ensure replay submission, admins can validate match as double-defloss or assign a rematch.

9.6 If any player insult his teammates, admin team members or opponent team players during the official match, forum or any other EHL platform, he will get an official warning or in harder cases be restricted with 1 game suspension. After he does it again, he will be banned from the competition.

9.7 Any player should be aware of his internet power and ability to play in foreign hosts. If he is playing with lag on purpose and therefore pausing the game all the time, that will be considered as unsportsmanlike behavior and he will be restricted for 1 match.

9.8 Any player should also be aware that EHL forum isn't place for spam and useless posts. If a player randomly post on forum without any sense, he can be warned, restricted for 1 match or banned from EHL. Decision is completely on admin team.

9.9 If any player confirm for 2 teams at the same time (in EHL and HCL) and at least one team has line-up lockdown, it will be considered as double confirmation and player will be resctricted for 1 match or banned for running HCL / EHL edition.

9.10 Captain (and co-captain) obligation is to control their own team. If they fail to do so, they can be restricted with 1 match suspension, banned or replaced on their position. Decision is completely on admin team.

9.11 Any attempts of macro usage or faking will be restricted with bans for player who faked, captain and other parties involved.

9.12 In case of team disband, captain (and in some cases co-captain) will be restricted with captain suspension in following HCL / EHL edition. If admin team consider penalty isn't big enough, he can be restricted for 2 editions / permanent captain prohibiion or possible total ban.



10. Miscellaneous

10.1 Misbehaviour
Before, during and after an official match all kind of unsportsmanlike behaviour is forbidden. That especially means insults, provocations, racism and lack of fairness. If an opposing team behaves in such way, the affected team is asked to mention that in the relevant result reporting thread by adding suitable evidence.
Furthermore you should instantly seek help from the EHL admin team to eventually solve the issue. A reasonable and respectful contact with each other is very important in the EHL Therefore violations of this rule are being punished pretty consistent. The punishment is completely up to the EHL admin team and will be decided individually.

10.2 Forbidden assistances
All types of scripts like so called macro scripts are forbidden without any exception. If a player is caught using a macro script or any other forbidden assistance, he is being banned from EHL. All matches the player has played, will be judged as a 0-3 defloss to his team.

10.3 Faking
Impersonating a player, multi-accounting and all other kind of faking is not allowed and if caught doing so, the concerned player will be banned from EHL.

10.4 Fair-Play
Fair-play is the most important thing in this game and we all should do our best to provide fair and honest competition for ourselves and have fun in best possible way. If game is paused, don't unpause without another team approval. It may lead to unfair goals while your opponent still wasn't ready to play. Game shouldn't be paused when your opponent is in the attack. If there is serious issue like player left the room or visible lag from the defender then it is fine, but if there is a thing you could avoid and wait for your own attack, please do so!



11. Rule changes

The EHL admin team reserves the right to modify, add and remove rules at any time. Rule changes apply with immediate effect when they have been announced in the EHL forum. Any of the restrictions who happen and are not listed, HCL admin team reserve full right to add them in rulebook. All other information about rules and similar stuff may be given in different topics as well.
